Jackie kicks things off by laughing about how hard it was to convince Kashmir to start a podcast.
“It was like pulling teeth,” Jackie jokes.
Jackie shares how she’s watched Kashmir grow up — from being her niece born when she was 14 to becoming a sharp, faithful, and skilled young woman. At first, Jackie admits, she wanted Kashmir’s help promoting her own singing career because of her social media skills. But as the idea evolved, it became clear there was something bigger here.
Leaving a Career & Looking for What’s Next
Kashmir opens up about leaving her nonprofit job of over a decade — a career that covered media production, social media, brand management, and more.
“I prayed about it,” she recalls. “I felt like I had hit my peak and had so much more potential. I was applying for jobs, but nothing felt right.”
That’s when Jackie’s idea for a podcast started to make sense. They already talked about everything together — not just politics — and had the skills to make it happen.
Personal Stories of Persecution
The episode also explored personal experiences with backlash. From being mocked online for honoring Charlie Kirk to wearing a MAGA shirt and facing hostility in a local store, Jackie described moments that made her question whether to stay silent or speak up. We both felt there is a fine line between being a peacemaker and cowering down.
These experiences only deepened our conviction that The Know Buddies 757 should be a space for honest talk — even if people don’t agree.

Kashmir credits Jackie for helping refine the show’s name. While “The Nobodies” was the working title, Jackie woke up one morning with a new inspiration that tied everything together.
From “The Nobodies” to The Know Buddies
Jackie shares how she didn’t want to “curse” the project with a name like “The Nobodies.” After praying and thinking about Scripture, she felt the words “The Know Buddies” drop into her mind like a song lyric.
“I get songs like that sometimes,” she explains. “But this time it was words, not music.”
That moment turned a casual idea into a defined vision: a space for unfiltered conversation, where listeners could join in and become part of “the know.”
