Sojourn Fermentory: Clean Pizza, Craft Beer, and Community Vibes in Suffolk

Kashmir and Jackie are back in the 757 taste-testing scene — and this week, we’re checking out Sojourn Fermentory in Suffolk’s Bridgeport area. Clean ingredients, great craft brews, and a welcoming atmosphere? Yeah… it instantly earned its spot as a Worth the Bite 757 — Know Buddies’ Pick.

🍕 A Hidden Gem in Bridgeport

“We went to Sojourn Fermentory here in Suffolk by our house at Bridgeport,” Kashmir shared.

The first impression? Warm, modern, and surprisingly spacious.

“You wouldn’t think it was that big from the outside,” Jackie said, “but once you walk in, it opens up beautifully — and you can tell they really care about the atmosphere.”

The restaurant, known for its European-style clean eating, stands out for how intentional they are about their ingredients and process.

The Secret Behind the Dough

Jackie shared what makes Sojourn’s pizza so special:

“They don’t use any seed oils in their dough — only olive oil. And they do a 72-hour fermentation process.”

That fermentation process helps break down gluten, improves flavor, and makes the crust easier to digest — a win for anyone who’s been trying to eat cleaner.

As Kashmir noted, “It’s the kind of pizza you can actually feel good about eating.”

🧀 The Food: Square Slices, Gooey Cheese, and Clean Flavor

From the Pepperoni and Margherita pizzas to the Garlic Parmesan Frys and Beignets (yes, those were a hit), everything looked and tasted incredible.

“Those beignets were so good — I’d get them for my birthday instead of cake,” Jackie joked.

Garlic aioli for dipping added the perfect touch, and let’s just say the cheese pull was Instagram-worthy.

🍺 Craft Beer & Chill Atmosphere

It’s not just about pizza — Sojourn also has an impressive beer selection.

Jackie raved about their IPAs, which she first tried during the Bennett’s Creek concert series.

“Their IPA is one of my favorites,” she said.

Kashmir went with a lighter beer during their lunch visit.

“It was noonish, so I kept it simple — but it was crisp, light, and perfect.”

Between the friendly staff, locally brewed options, and bright interior, Sojourn feels like a place you can hang out for hours.

Community-Centered & Family Friendly

Beyond the food, what stood out most was the sense of community.

“They’re very community-driven,” Jackie said. “They host events like bingo nights and really make locals feel part of it.”

Whether you’re out with family or friends, Sojourn offers something for everyone — including those who want to eat clean without sacrificing flavor.
